Description

Perfect for DC, DCC or AC using 2 or 3 rails. DCCconcepts Rolling Roads are very easy to use… You simply place them on the track (spaced ready for your locomotive). Incredibly versatile, they help with running in, testing and evaluation of locomotive performance, active cleaning of driving wheels, simpler DCC Setup and all kinds of tweaking to be achieved in front of you, on the desk or workbench. We have also thought about those collectors and modellers who enjoy and are preserving the history of our hobby by running the 3-rail models that really kick-started our hobby. So – to make sure our rolling roads are universal, we have added into all 4, 8 & 12 packs (along with our HO premium set) an adapter that is suitable for both Marklin and Hornby Dublo 3-rail use… so now everyone really IS taken care of! Test stand works great for me, was able to run in and program locomotives with ease.

    Sometimes finicky. Otherwise it works.

I bought the 12 piece multigauge pack for use with my N, HO, and I scale equipment. No instructions in the packaging. Will just have to get them from the DCC Concepts .com web site or see youtube reviews. 1st time I put them on my HO track with two different HO locomotives, no response to DCC (massive initial disappointment). Used a digital voltmeter to verify continuity between rail and pick up side plate (good), rail to posts holding the rollers (good), rail to surface of the roller (no continuity?!?!?!). Contacted DCC concepts and they said check the voltage between the rails then at the rollers -- interestingly, it pickup both DC and DCC voltage across the roller surface, so I put a loco on and it worked. Interestingly it now works, but I sometimes have to reposition or wiggle the pieces on the track and at the wheels to get it to work. My guess is the power jumps the ball bearings to the roller surfaces once the rollers are rolling or the wheels contact the center post or side plate to make electrical contact. If I was going to do HO only, the premium 10 piece gold plated may be more reliable. For flexibility and multiple axles, this nickel-silver 12 piece provides more flexibility for the same cost as the gold plated HO set.
