Description
These Gulf and Ship Island cars are painted in a "1989 Repaint" version. Dressed in white like the sand on Mississippi Gulf Coast beaches, these cars represent samples from Gulf and Ship Island series GSI 42700-GSI 42999.
Deeply rooted in history, the name Gulf and Ship Island belonged to a prototype railroad from 1882 until 1925 (when it became part of the Illinois Central. The actual property ran northward from Gulfport, Mississippi and is incorporated in the network of Christopher Palmieri's Freelance Meridian Speedway railroads!
Using the Gulf and Ship Island "Steering Wheel" logo as drawn by Robert Tomb, these cars uniquely blend history and freelance in a classy car!
