    HO Scale Mystery...

Posted by Jeff Nienaber on 12th Mar 2024

I loved receiving my mystery box - it really was like Christmas. In addition to the covered hopper and Preiser people, I received a laser cut kit. While it's not in my era, after some heavy weathering I can put in my woods and make it an abandoned cabin!

    Another great monthly Mystery...

Posted by Tim Thomas on 14th Aug 2023

This month brought a Primed for Grime Athearn covered hopper and an Atlas box car. Plus, a couple of painted Soda Machines, a pair of working streetlights, some daisies, Blair Line gas station signage, a precision despensing bottle, and a Walthers-labeled nylon drawstring bag. What a haul. It's always a lot of fun to open these Mystery Boxes, and they always contain good stuff. The USPS did an awful job of shipping the box to my home in Alaska, taking 14 full days to deliver the parcel. It was shipped on August 1 and was delivered on August 14. That's a new low. Shipping is free for these Mystery Boxes, so I can't complain too much. But man, the USPS sucks.

    Another great Mystery...

Posted by Tim Thomas on 12th Jul 2023

My July Mystery Box included a beautiful Intermountain 50' boxcar painted in Montana Rail Link colors. Quite a handsome piece. Also some everyday stuff like canopy glue, two kinds of Excel razor knife blades plus a set of self-closing tweezers, a City Classics house kit (that'll be kit bash fodder), some nice scale model Cat Tails, a Walthers delivery van, and some Flex-i-File extra fine paint brushes. Overall, another pretty good haul. These Mystery Boxes always bring some joy and items that you might find helpful on your layout. Not a single item from this month's box will go to waste (Not that they ever do).
