Micro-Trains magnetic couplers are BEST!
Easily installed these trucks on my Kato rolling stock. From now on I’m saving time and money and just buying Micro-Trains rolling stock. Also very much appreciate Midwest Model Railroad reasonable prices and fast shipping!

Uncoupling Hopper...
I have a Coal Mine with several sidings on my layout. Unfortunately I put it on the far side of a four foot table against the wall so I can’t manually uncouple the hopper cars. I installed an electromagnet on the main line and buried some refrigerator magnets under the sidings. I experimented with several different couplers and discovered that the Micro-Trains line couplers were the best for uncoupling using the magnets. I’m going to change all my rolling stock to Mico-Trains couplers.

Barber Roller Bearing Trucks with medium extension couplers
I purchased these trucks for only one reason. I cut the couplers off the trucks to obtain a 100T Roller Bearing Truck that has a bolster pin hole EXACTLY in the center of the truck frame. The 1036 trucks have holes that are offset to one side of the truck crossframe and won't work for me.

M-T Barber Roller Bearing Trucks Medium Estension...
Whenever I purchase a freight car, if it isn't equipped with etched metal crossover walkways, aka coupler platforms, I add them. Quite often, this results in the standard truck mounted coupler being too short, with the cars looking a little strange or being too close together when coupled. To overcome this, I replace the trucks/couplers that came on the car with the medium extension trucks/couplers for a more prototypical appearance.

Micro-Trains Barber Rolling Bearing Trucks - Medium Extension Couplers #1037
I replace the #1035 trucks on my Micro-Trains rolling stock after adding etched metal crossover walkways for a more prototypical coupler distance between cars. I do this on other cars as well.
