Description
Built in 1944, this FT-V class flatcar with Bettendorf trucks was used in general service and had a capacity of 140,000 pounds. Founded in 1859, Santa Fe was one of the largest railroads in North America up until 1996, when it merged with Burlington Northern to form BNSF.
During VVW2 the "Higgens Boat" or Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel (LVCP) was designed to get troops and equipment from Naval shipsto shore safely and efficiently. The Higgens did just that. They served in every theater of the war and lasted well into the last half of the 20th Century.

Neat model.
Did not expect to have to assemble the boat but it was not hard to do. Great addition to my military training.

Awesome tribute to veterans!
I picked this up as my dad was a LCM crewman in WW2. The Higgins boat is 3D printed very crisply. The car is the same quality as you’d expect from MTL. Overall a super nice piece to add to your layout. Mine will be use like it’s transporting the boat to a museum site. Put it to work today on your layout!
