Description
Built in the 1970s for Golden West Service, this single-door cushioned underframe car with Barber Roller Bearing trucks was later re-painted and re-lettered under the ownership of Union Pacific, but retained an SP reporting mark. Southern Pacific was a Class 1 railroad from 1865 until 1996, when it was absorbed by Union Pacific after falling on hard times financially in the 1970s and 1980s.

MTL 50' Boxcar with New HydroCushion...
MTL's new HydroCushion frame is a very nice upgrade on these cars. Body mounted couplers and lowered ride height look good. A great value in today's market.
