Peco, you should be ashamed of yourself.
Most model railroaders use code 83 track, but instead of creating a dedicated rail joiner for that size, Peco made these way too small so they could be used with other track sizes. So everytime, you want to lay code 83 track, first you’ve got to take out a little jeweler’s screwdriver, jam it into the gap and grow the rail joiner size, one rail joiner at a time. Come on guys, you can do better than that!

These need to be...
Although Peco rail joiners work better than any other brand with Peco flex track, they could be a lot better. Making just one model rail joiners for use with code 83, 75, and 70 is ridiculous. Code 83 is most commonly used rail size, but each and every rail joiner has to be stretched out with a tiny screwdriver to get the joiners loose enough to fit the track. How about making a code 83 specific joiner?
