Description
The Dash 2 locomotive series, unveiled by EMD in 1972, featured significant changes, such as a solid-state, modular electrical control system and improved engine components designed to increase traction and reduce exhaust emissions. A reliable work-horse, the GP38-2 remains one of the most successful locomotives ever built. Most are still in service today.

Great Staff - MEH...
Ordered online but had to return in person one of the two locomotives I ordered. First off apparently when I placed the order I mistakenly selected in store pick up. The staff walked me through fixing that. And not once but twice! Great, patient service. Then when the locomotives arrived and I put them on the track I have to admit I was underwhelmed by the performance of the one that worked. The sound is significantly quieter than my Bachmann and the appearance not much better. As for the one that wouldn’t work; the staff, once again, shined. I took it into the store and they tried everything they could think of to make it work. When that failed they immediately without hesitation replaced it. Then they proceeded to give advice and assistance on a layout project I’m working on. This is THE model train store in the country. Buy online or visit in person but patronize this business.
