    Trackside...

Trackside Transfer is a very recognizable kit thats been around for decades now. It’s very basic compared to more modern models, but if you’re willing to put in a fair amount of extra effort you can make a really beautiful building from it. The moulds, once sanded square and cleaned up a bit, contain a beautiful amount of brick detail and the windows appear to be very close to scale size. Unfortunately, they are also, like the doors, all molded in place, and no matter when you decide to paint them, it’s gonna be tedious! The freight doors are of an older design, but can be cut out and replaced with more modern ones if you want to add several hours of additional work, which I did, and some pieces from other kits. The roofing material is just plain thin sheet styrene that will sag a bit if not braced. Would recommend buying some roof and building details either from a kit or 3D printed, square plastic tubing for bracing, along with decals or dry transfers as neither are provided. Although it will require much extra effort, this very basic model can be turned into a real gem for your layout!

    DPM Trackside Transfer.

I have been cutting up DPM kits to use for scenic backdrop the fit flush against my backdrop. So this kit was ordered to fil that purpose. The front half of the kit has made a Railway Express Agency and the rear half has made a marine supply building for the layout. I used part of the sides also halved to make a little more projection of the structure from the backdrop. Much better than using some of the buildings designed as backdrops but on paper. Gives a nice 3 D effect while conserving space.
