Finally, better trucks.
HO Logistics recently released a new line of trucks, both Peterbilts and KW. They have four axle and three axle tractors, some include sleepers. They are much better upgrades from the old Tonkin line (die cast bodies are finally gone) and detail has increased. Also available are trees of chrome parts, so when you lose or break some part when you take these trucks apart, the part is likely included on the optional chrome tree. The chrome, for all its faults, comes off easily with a soak in SuperClean. The downsides for me are that the factory uses too much glue and even welds some parts using probably a fine-tipped soldering iron, especially to horns, for some reason. Don’t like that. And for all the other improvements, the replacements for Tonkin’s terrible wheels and tires, these are even worse. The are heavily chromed and lack wheel beads. They look flat and awful. The tires are even worse, because they are practically impossible to remove from the wheel (the wheels have giant square flanges that make remounting the tires almost impossible after removal. Round tires and square wheels are just ridiculous. So the factory should use less glue and get rid of the soldering irons to melt plastic parts. That would make them so much easier to disassemble, paint or otherwise customize. And get rid of the atrocious wheels and tires. Less electro-plating would be a blessing too.
