Track pans (also known as water troughs in Europe) were used by railways to provide water to steam locomotives while on the move. Stopping at water towers caused delays in timetables. Locomotives had to slow the train down and wait for tenders to fill, and afterwards drag the train back up to speed. These pans allowed trains to fill tenders while on the fly. This contains two track pans, pre-primed and ready for installation on your layout or module. If you are looking to add further realism by replicating water inside the pan, ensure that the bottom of the model is fully sealed. Once is is fully sealed and detailed to your liking, pour in a small amount of resin or any water product you prefer.
