Description
Micro Engineering Code 83 Ladder Track System Turnouts are part of a system of five different No. 5 turnouts allows you to make more compact yard ladders in a given space. The system includes curved diverging track turnouts, which allow a higher ladder track angle, several lapped turnouts and a standard No. 5 turnout. Code 83 Ladder Track System Turnouts feature nickel silver rail, brown ties and cast-metal frogs.

Not all they are cracked up to...
I built the yard ladder using Micro Engineering ladder track system using 5b, 5c, 5d, and 5e turnouts. Common issues with all of them are: Brass frog is set too high, impossible to solder a wire to the frog power button without melting plastic, rail spikes are so little and tender that the rail practically jumps out of them, especially the two rails leaving the frog, and excess plastic between the moving point tie bar and the adjoining ties that has to be cut away before using. While I love the idea of the space saving design of the ladder track system, should I ever have to build another railroad, I don't think I will be using the Micro Engineering Ladder Track system...
