Description

Telegraph Office / Trackside Shanty with Interior Design Elements

Telegraph Office with Interior Design Elements. This little Telegraph Office was modeled based on standard designs and plans used by the Nickel Plate Road. These little shanties were placed across the Nickel Plate Road system, and similar designs showed up on other lines all across America.

The building is very detailed with both interior and exterior elements. Inside you will find a telegrapher's desk in one corner of a room, and a waiting area in another. The Interior is fully outfitted with doors, a counter, a bench, a stove, and a telegrapher’s desk. Th exterior is complete with wood siding.

The little building was heated with an oil-burning stove. The oil storage was in a little offshoot closet. For this model, that closet has been repurposed to allow for led lighting (led not included). One hole on the underside and a small hole leading to the office will allow you to easily illuminate the interior.

    Meh…

It was really easy to put together but it’s really just like a 3D printed thing. The interior “details” are not very detailed. A desk and stuff like that. Even after painting and weathering it doesn’t look all that realistic to me. Maybe someone better at weathering than me would have a different result though.
