  These are an essential upgrade to any N scale locomotive or rolling stock if you want 'automatic magnetic uncoupling' that actually works. The best aspect is that they are a simple "drop in" replacement for most popular brands that come fitted with a "compatible" but less functional coupler. They are also quite useful in reducing the minimum track curve radius (from 11" or 12" down to being fine on 9.75" or even 8" curves) for even those locos or cars that come with shorter Magne-matics already installed. I'm a big fan of the brown version for couplers that see less use, such as on the 'front' of road locos. And like all Micro-Trains products, made in the USA. Highly recommended.

  I install Micro-Train couplers on many of my engines. I like the simplicity of using the preassembled units as my hands don't work as well as they did 25 yrs ago.
