Built in 1958 by American Car & Foundry, this ice reefer was modified in 1965 to carry beer for the St. Louis Refrigerator Car Company. It was one of 50 in the series 91400-91699 to receive this change. Founded in 1881, the American Refrigerator Transit Company was based in St. Louis, Missouri, and was jointly owned by Missouri Pacific and Wabash. Today, it’s a subsidiary of Union Pacific.
