Released August 2025

These 4,600 cubic foot capacity three-bay covered hoppers were built in 1978 for Rock Island by American Car & Foundry. They later made their way to First Union Rail Leasing under the RUSX reporting mark. First Union Rail, now under Wells Fargo Rail’s umbrella, owns more than 135,000 railcars and nearly 1,000 locomotives.

    Micro-Trains First Union Rail Leasing ex RI Covered Hoppers.

    Pretty nice looking cars. As a side note, First Union Rail Leasing was purchased by Wells Fargo Rail. Wells Fargo Rail is divesting itself of more than 130,000 rail cars and selling them to GATX. I don't know if the reporting marks on these cars will change.
