NCE starter...
I’m using it for programming only. I have their 10 amp system for the layout. This makes it very convenient to program in the comfort of the house. I don’t have to worry about making a mistake and messing up other locomotive programming. I’m not sure why you have to use the supplied flat cable with the handheld controller. In conclusion, I love it.

NCE power...
This is my first dcc system, I don't know how it compares with other starter systems but it is simple to get started. The owner's manual is easy to follow. It does not include any wiring from the system to the track / bus.

NCE Power Cab starter set
Although I have not tried all the provided fearures, the NCE power cab is very easy to install and the programming is explained well in the manual. The starter set does not include the wires required to attach the unit to the tracks, bus, etc. This was absolutely a great purchase

NCE Power...
Very pleased with the Power Cab. Its features are intuitive to learn and use. It has met all my expectations and offers many features I may never use, but they there if I ever get past the novice stage of model railroading. Mose

My introduction to...
When I first saw and more importantly heard locomotives running on DCC I knew I would need to use DCC myself. The fidelity of control (I like switching) combined with the sound makes model railroading an experience rather than just an activity. NCE had a great reputation for ease of use and several modelers I follow on youtube use it (many have explained how to set it up) NCE lives up to that reputation as I have found the Power Cab easy to use and simple to learn. A few functions required I do a quick google search to figure out but my questions were readily answered online. I am very happy with my NCE Powercab. :)

Wonderfully easy to set up on small layout!
I had been reluctant to dive into DCC. But several years ago I purchased a couple of DCC locomotives with sound, thinking that I might eventually use them on somebody else's layout. Well here it is years later, and I had not even gotten the DCC locos out of their cases! I finally got some track laid for my own small switching layout, and decided to try DCC instead of wiring a bunch of control blocks and toggle switches for my DC locomotives. After reading up on different DCC systems for years and seeing a few DCC systems in operation at train shows, I decided on NCE. WOW, what I have been missing! It took me just a few minutes to set up the system and get a locomotive running and sounding great! Programming each locomotive (one at a time) on the main track is easy, and the Power Cab has more than enough power to operate a couple of locomotives at a time on my small layout without having to add additional wiring or power boosters.
