N Scale Architect 10103 - Somerville Junction - N Scale Kit

The Somerville Junction kit includes everything needed to service steam locomotives including a 500-1,000 Ton Conveyor-Type Coaling Station, a 65,000 Gallon Water Storage Tank with two Water Stand Pipes, a Two-Track Sand Column, and a Cinder Plant (a service function often over looked). This kit is based on standard Fairbanks-Morse, Roberts & Schaefer, and Ogle Engineering Company designs for reinforced concrete and steel constructed facilities built between 1920 and 1940. These structures were used until the end of the steam locomotive era in the 1950’s. Once the hub of activity in the railroad yard, many of these structures still stand today as a reminder of Steam’s Golden Age.
