Customers using Code 83 track: Contact us with a copy of your sales receipt showing purchase of a SPRINTER model from a PIKO America retailer, and our parts department can provide a set of six replacement wheelsets with smaller “RP25” wheel flanges, for operation on Code 83 track. No charge shipment to addresses in the US and Canada. Subject to availability.

The NCTD SPRINTER provides modern, clean and quiet, diesel-powered commuter service in Northern San Diego County. It connects with trains of Amtrak’s Surfliner, plus commuter services of Metrolink and the Coaster. These new PIKO articulated models feature interior details and lights, as well as directional lighting. A typical SPRINTER consist would have two road numbers coupled together. The PIKO models also feature new tooling for the larger rooftop AC units vs. a Eurpean Desiro.
