Scalecoat Sanding Sealer is a high-quality base coat designed to create a smooth, even surface before painting. Ideal for wood model kits, it seals the surface to prevent paint absorption and uneven finishes. Once dry, it sands easily to a fine, silky texture—providing the perfect foundation for Scalecoat Paint.

Dry Times:

To handle: 15 minutes
To sand/recoat: 30 minutes

Drying time may vary based on temperature, humidity and other local climate factors. (Based on air dry: at 78°, 50% room humidity)

Directions:
Mix well before each use, be sure to scrap the bottom of the bottle if Sanding Sealer separates. Apply a thin, even coat and allow to dry completely. Sand lightly with fine-grit sandpaper before applying color coats for the best results.

Sanding Sealer can be brush painted or airbrushed. Sanding Sealer Thinner (Part 10572) can be used to thin Sanding Sealer. It is recommended to thin as little as possible, if thinned significantly multiple airbrush coats may be needed. 

Storage:

Sanding Sealer should be stored in a cool, dry dark place. Sanding Sealer should not be stored in direct sunlight, near heat sources or sparks.
