Not all models are made the same, and some are a TIGHT fit for a decoder installation. The CurrentKeeper is now available in two sizes to fit more models and make your installs easier! Keep more of your trains running even over dirty track and switches!
The NEW SoundTraxx CurrentKeeperII™ is designed to add additional power capacity to any decoder installation. It can be used to overcome dirty track, limited electrical pickup or dead frogs to ensure reliable operation of any locomotive in your fleet. It measures 20.1 x 13.2 x 11mm.
● Maintains power to the decoder for up to 10 seconds during electrical interruptions
● Compatible with NMRA DCC Standards & Recommended Practices

Soundtracks current keeper works really well and easy to install. Highly recommended.

Current keeper works great!
I always add a current keeper to any decoder installation — it really minimizes the irritation caused by dirty track or dead frogs. I still clean my track but not as often as necessary without the current keepers.

Current Keeper...
This is an excellent add for DCC locomotives. One of two form factors available, so reach out to SoundTraxx for advice on which one might fit the space you have in a locomotive. I had one of these added for a Baldwin switcher, and the performance improvement is remarkable, especially for sound-equipped locomotives. The CurrentKeeper will keep sound from dropping out and recycling the startup sounds, etc.
