  Cures what ails your old Proto 2000...

  I bought several NOS Proto 2000 locos, knowing the problems with the axle gears. Since these locos have the Athearn blue box running gear the axle gears are a direct swap with the Athearn 60024 gear set. The hardest part is pressing the new gears on the halfshafts then adjusting to gauge spec (rough on the fingers). But once done, good as new.

  For those of us who do not have 3-D printers these gears are my GO TO store bought replacement gear to revive Life-Like 4-axle, certain 6-axle blue box engines or Athearn drive gears chronologically older than many young adults. So far their reliability rate for me is 100%. Thank you, Midwest Model RR, having these in stock & able to ship out quickly. They used to be real hard to find or get.
