The ARA/AAR 70-ton Quad Hopper was a ubiquitous freight car used by railroads across North America. Primarily designed for hauling coal, nearly 12,000 hoppers were built and delivered between 1926 and 1930, making them a common sight on rails for decades.

This release features popular road names including Baltimore & Ohio, Chesapeake & Ohio, Milwaukee Road, Santa Fe, and Union Pacific. These handsomely crafted, highly detailed models are offered in distinctly numbered 4-packs. This production run includes both A and B packs, allowing those who purchase both packs to build a fleet of eight uniquely numbered cars—perfect for assembling a long string of coal haulers.

Each car features realistic, removable coal loads and detailed bay interiors, making them versatile for a wide range of operating and display scenarios.

Also available is a 6-pack mixed-variety set, featuring cars from multiple road names. This option gives you a great head start in building a mixed freight consist for your layouts.
