I’m sure the Digitrax DS74bis very goos at what it does, but what unit does is work only with Digitrax snap motors and will not support any other snap or stall motor systems. I sent mine back and cancelled the second one I ordered.

“ignorant”, my DS-74 will perhaps be great but I Was ignorant in that you need a power supply, bought separately to power my DS-74 so alas it isn’t installed yet ?

I'm setting up the Digitrax DS74 to operate my Kato turnouts via my computer, and it works perfectly (using Traincontroller software).

DS74
Very nice addition to my layout and easy to set up with the Digitrax system via the Loconet cable. I only wish there was a model that supported six switches/turnouts...DS76 - hint, hint Digitrax. As always Midwest shipped fast and packed the item well.

Functions well, wire terminals a...
I use the decoder to control 4 Kato switches. Functions well and easy to configure and set base address. Only challenge is the wire terminals are smaller than they need to be. The screw terminals require a very small slotted screwdriver and the holes for the wires are small and positioned close together. I was able to assemble but there is space for a different type of connector that would make installation easier.
