Description
Ash pits were found across railroads worldwide during the age of steam. These pits were used when cleaning out ash pans of locomotives both small and large. Locomotives move over a pit and dump out ash, and roll off once the ash pans are cleaned. To install, cut a X" x X" x X" hole below the track but in line with the ties of the track. Place and secure the model in this location once basic painting and detailing is done. Remove the ties of the rails in the section where it crosses the ash pit. Once this is done, secure track down, with the rails running across the two supports along the pit. It is important to ensure that the rails are parallel along these, as to keep it in gauge. Make sure to test as installation progresses to ensure any mistakes or problems are fixed!
