This industry leading coupler features an NEM 362 European Style Coupler. The #18 Magne-Matic® NEM 362 European Style Coupler that is mounted in the HO-Scale NEM 362 draft gear box pocket.
It is not recommended to use a metal coupler directly on a metal surface or in a metal draft gearbox to avoid possible electrical crossover and shorting that may cause damage.

Kadees are still the best...
I was very happy to find that Kadee made couplers to fit in UK NEM pockets and I have an interest in some UK locomotives and rolling stock but don't want to use their oversized couplers (and want to run them with my standard HO equipment with Kadee couplers) I've tried some other less expensive brands of knuckle couplers that fit in NEM pockets but they were harder to adjust and bring to a correct height. Kadees are still the best.
