– Southern Railway (SOU) “Serves the South Repaint” 1962+ is the second of three Southern Railway classic red repaint schemes released by Tangent in 2026 and as applied to these 1951/1952 built Pullman-Standard PS-1s.  This 1962+ version of Southern has large “SOUTHERN” stenciling applied to the left side of the car, plus a large road number.  The right side of the car includes a large “SOUTHERN SERVES THE SOUTH” stencil applied across three indented lines, which is eye-catching and shows some playful iteration away from the “plain” logo only Southern scheme from the early 1950s.  These models have the early version of the Superior 9’ door, and Miner handbrake housings and wheels like the prototype did.  These models ride on Tangent’s gorgeous Barber S-2 50-Ton plain bearing truck, complete with separate brake beam detail.
