– Santa Fe ATSF “Delivery 1969 in the 1981+ Era” gives 1980s+ modelers some standout Santa Fe red variations. This scheme features the original ATSF red delivery paint, but with very specific paint and lettering changes to bring it forward into the 1981+ era. This big car gets big graphics, with the large circle cross ATSF logo on the left side and huge “Super Shock Control A Smoother Ride” graphics on the right. This model features Keystone End-Of-Car Cushioning and related coupler centering devices, matching the prototype photos. The model has Ajax brake equipment on the B End along with a modern brake wheel and original Thrall coupler lift bars. The double plug doors feature gorgeous stand-off door rods, rollers and handles. This replica is equipped with 100-Ton Barber S-2 trucks with rotating Timken caps. The cars are painted in a slightly darker version of ATSF red and weathered black to match their 1980s appearance. The graphics are updated as well and include 1980s style ATSF COTS and various black data patches. Yes, that is a stand-off ACI label applied to a metal plate, just like the prototypes. Each car is prototype photo-specific with its paint out patches, COTS other data changes. Both cars feature “10P” and updated return routes to the DT&I R.R. in Dearborn, Michigan (Ford service).
