– Southern Pacific SP “Delivery 6-1969” replicates the as-delivered scheme applied by Thrall to SP’s order of 45 cars.  The large bold SOUTHERN PACIFIC dominates the right side of the car.  Our SP fans have been waiting for this scheme, and we appreciate their patience!  The model mimics the prototype, including Keystone End-Of-Car Cushioning and related coupler centering devices, Ajax brake equipment on the B End and a modern brake wheel.  Check out those gorgeous stand-off door tracks, door rods, rollers and handles as well as see-through Apex crossover platforms on each end!  The coupler draft gear includes the yellow-painted coupler centering device handles, too.  Underneath, you can spot those gorgeous Tangent 100-Ton Barber S-2 trucks with rotating Brenco-6 caps.  Yes, that is a stand-off ACI label applied to a metal plate, just like the real cars.  You might notice the lack of SP-style Roman data on these cars.  This is because Thrall painted these in Chicago Heights, IL, and used Thrall style lettering stencils!  The model even features the prototype’s paint overspray onto the galvanized roof.  What else can you say – this is a sharp paint scheme!  SKUs -01 and -02 are lettered CODE 65 with return route instructions to N&W in Melvindale, Michigan.  SKUs -03 through -05 are lettered CODE 68 with return route instructions to N&W in Cleveland, Ohio.  SKUs -06 through -08 do not have the CODE lettering at all but still have the yellow box/return route instructions to N&W in Cleveland, Ohio.  These cars were part of Ford Parts Distribution Pools.  This is one of our most requested schemes for our Thrall 5880 box car!  Do not miss out.
