Description

Vallejo Model Air 71-053 Dark Seagreen 17 ml Bottle Model Air is a range of liquid acrylic colors developed especially for airbrush techniques, with very finely ground pigments and an acrylic resin with properties of extreme resistance and durability. The formula contains a new acrylic resin with properties until now impossible to obtain in a water based acrylic. The resistance, hardness and covering power of Model Air is superior to any known acrylic for airbrushing. The pigments used for airbrush colors need to be ground to the finest possible consistency to avoid obstruction of the airbrush valves. The revolutionary milling process of the pigments used in the Model Air formula gives the model painter technical assurance and finest texture when applying the colors to the model, and produces a very superior quality when applying the colors with a brush for minuscule details, for washes and transparencies and layered application of diluted glazes.Colors can be mixed with one another, diluted with water, Model Air Thinner or Varnish, according to the effect desired, but we recommend the use of Model Air Thinner since this product conserves the properties of the colors. Model Air adheres exceptionally well to all surfaces. The adhesion of Model Air to resin models, plastics, steel and white metal is extraordinary. Once protected with varnish, (Gloss, Matte or Satin) Model Air can be over painted with solvent based enamels or oil colors: they withstand cleaning with turpentine and even a light wash with alcohol. The resistance to abrasion of the colors, once varnished, is superior to any other water based acrylic. Presentation: Model Air is presented in a 17 ml. bottle with eyedropper. This packaging prevents the paint from evaporating and drying in the container.

    Great paint, but wrong label?

This is kind of important. 71.053 is Dark Sea GRAY, not Dark Seagreen. I purchased this at the recommendation of Boomer Diorama on YouTube. Figured I could use it even if it was green, but it indeed was the intended gray. I’m using it to help weather N scale cars and locomotives. Again, 71.053 is Gray, not Green.
