PECO Streamline N Gauge Code 55 - Universal Fine trackage system
Despite a low visible rail height of just 1.4mm, all brands of N Gauge model locomotives will run on this track.
The ingenious rail section of PECO 55 combines strength and durability with a highly realistic appearance and uses the same universal rail joiners as Code 80; the geometry of this range has been cleverly designed to make it easy to build convenient, complex and aesthetically pleasing formations.

Good Track But a Bit Difficult
Overall, Peco makes a very good Code 55 track. You can mix and join it with Atlas with a bit of shimming or filing as the ties are slightly different heights. Also, removing the one or two plastic ties at the end to join other sections is rather irritating since it is actually Code 80 submerged into the ties to give Code 55 appearance and height. So cutting the ties is a bit tricky and requires both a sharp pair of cutters, an Xacto knife, and pair of needle nose pliers to fully remove the material from the Code 80 "T" section if you want to use joiners, hence the 4 star rating. Of course, just butting up clean 90 degree edges doesn't present this little problem if your system is DCC with electrical feeders throughout the track sections

Peco Code 55 N-scale...
I have tried all of the brands of n-scale flex track. I always end up going back to Peco. Pro: Robust and bulletproof, accepts "pizza cutters" flanges. Con: Tie spacing, but no one notices unless they are nitpicking. Simply the best! ?

Atlas code 55 track may look better but PECO Code 55 is the most trouble free system.
